Community Kids

Growing Hearts and Faith for K-6th Grade

Community Kids is a children’s ministry for kids in Kindergarten through 6th grade. There are two separate areas within the ministry that help meet the specific learning, social, and spiritual needs of the different age groups. The K-3rd grade kids meet in the larger area (previous worship area). The 4th-6th grade kids meet in a separate Kidz 456 area (previous Students area) which is connected to the K-3rd grade area. Everyone enters and exits through the doors by the Community Kids check in desk.

The heart behind the Community Kids ministry is to disciple all kids with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, teach them the truths found in God's Word, the Bible, and walk beside them in their spiritual journey encouraging them every step of the way.

Sunday Mornings

We utilize Lifeway’s Gospel Project curriculum on Sunday morning which is a Christ-centered, chronological walk through the Bible. The K-3rd grade area is set up with different stations or stops that the kids travel around to for Bible story, crafts, snacks, and games followed by a time of praise and worship and then a brief large group wrap up. The Kidz 456 area is structured such that the majority of their time is spent in small groups followed by a time of praise and worship and then a brief large group wrap up. 

Sunday Nights

We utilize Lifeway’s Hyfi curriculum on Sunday night which is a media-rich resource that teaches 12 spiritual truths to help kids understand their true identity in Christ. Hyfi utilizes high quality media, videos, games, and side-by-side learning to foster a fun atmosphere of learning and belonging. On Sunday night we also offer Lifeway's Forged: Faith Refined bible study series for 4th-6th grade kids. Forged: Faith Refined is a 2-year curriculum designed to sharpen preteens’ worldview according to biblical principles. Low-tech sessions utilize age-appropriate discussions on truth, identity, and relationships to disciple kids.

Wednesday Nights 

Wednesday Night: During the school year we use the AWANA curriculum, which is a scripture memorization program, and so much more. It is all about discipleship, pouring God’s truth into the next generation, and fun. The kids participate in three 20 minute sessions: large group, small groups, and games. During the summer months, we utilize Lifeway’s Hyfi curriculum, various topical Bible studies, the midweek Gospel Project option, or service projects.
